Welcome to leighrust.com, the online home to renowned wildlife artist Leigh Rust. Here on the site you will find a selection of artworks in varying mediums and subjects. As a member of AGRA, Landscape Artists International and also the founder of the Untamed Artist Network his highly detailed works are capable of bringing people and animals to life as well as creating vast scenes of natural beauty that you feel you can walk right into.

Leigh is also a highly sought after teacher and demonstrator, often seen at art shows throughout Victoria working for the crowds. A selection of his demonstrations are available for view on this site. If you would like to learn the techniques that have brought his passionate work to the masses contact him regarding the ever popular online art classes or new DVD series.

Many of Leigh's recent wildlife works have been for the Tears of Leaves exhibition at Monarto Zoo, South Australia. This landmark show raised funds for Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary (Sierra Leone), Jane Goodall Institute and Monarto Zoo.

The works are on the new site: artforchimps.com. It showcases all the works for the relief project along with resources relating to the plight of the chimpanzee.

Shortlisted works in the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year competition

Two of Leigh's works, Into the tundra and Mother and child, have been selected for the shortlist of this international competition. The works will now travel to the UK for final judging in June.

Artist in Residence at Bayside En Plein Air Exhibition 2009

Leigh was selected to demonstrate at the Sandringham Lions Bayside En Plein Air exhibition on April 5th 2009. He was also given a showcase of his studio works at the show.

At the conclusion of the show 2 of his works were selected to be exhibited at wine Justice, Sandringham until the end of April.

Art for Life Appeal Charity Auction

Leigh's work, Crowning Glory, was auctioned at the Art For Life Appeal auction to raise money for victims of the bushfires.

Feature artist at San Remo Newhaven Art Show 2009

Leigh unveiled his new Bass Coast collection at the show and picked up a highly commended award on opening night.

This incredible show by Leigh and fellow Untamed artist, Patrick Hedges was officially opened by Dr Jane Goodall. Leigh presented Jane with a portrait at the event.

Frankston High School Art Show 2008

Leigh was featured artist at this year's show and received the coveted Best on show award at the official opening.
